Brenda Wilson • Artistic Director
Brenda Wilson has over fifty years experience as both a vocalist and an instrumentalist. She started playing piano at seven and horn at nine.  She has a Music Diploma from Vancouver Community College, a Bachelor of Music Degree in horn and a Teaching Certificate from UBC, as well as a Masters in Band Pedagogy from the American Band College of Southern Oregon University.

She has played principal horn with Pacific Symphonic Wind Ensemble for over thirty years and currently plays in West Coast Symphony and sings with Elektra Women's Choir.  She directs both Opus One Women's Choir and Senior Opus Singers and was Artistic Director of the Langley Community Chorus for ten years.

In 2003, Brenda founded the Langley Concert Band as an adult beginning band.  In 2016 Opus One Performing Arts Society was created as the umbrella organization for three musical groups in Langley, B.C. . . . the Langley Concert Band, Opus One Women's Choir and Senior Opus Singers.


Originally from Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, Brenda has been a band and choir teacher in the Burnaby School District for nearly thirty years, retiring in 2014.  In addition to her busy performance and conducting schedule, she works as a substitute teacher in the Langley School District.
